Wine Bar George Brunch Menu

Wine Country Brunch at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs

September 12, 2019

It is no secret that we are big fans of Wine Bar George, a restaurant in Disney Springs led by Master Sommelier George Miliotesone. It is the perfect spot for us to relax and enjoy some nibbles and adult beverages. (If you aren’t familiar with Wine Bar George make sure to check out our other post featuring an overview of the establishment and a review of lunch HERE). The existing menu is already drool worthy, but George and the team decided to raise the bar even further (see what we did there?) and decided to introduce a brand new brunch menu a few months back. When we received an invite to officially check out the newer offerings we couldn’t wait. Read on for all the delicious details…

Hakuna mimosa: it means it's brunch time.

We always like to say Brunch is simply breakfast without an alarm. And the “Wine Country Brunch” is perfect for a relaxed start to the weekend. The menu is available every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am-3:00pm. We decided to make a reservation for 11am and it was nice and quiet when we arrived. We noticed that it got busier during our time there so we do recommend to make an advanced reservation using Open Table or Disney Dining just in case it is a busy day. There are nice small tables for two as well as larger tables to accommodate a whole brunching crowd. We were sat upstairs in the back room with all of the barrel tables. We got a great seat that overlooked Disney Springs below. It was a beautiful day and we certainly enjoyed the scenery (and we can’t wait for when it cools down to experience a meal on the balcony sometime too!)

Brunch without champagne is just a sad breakfast.

To be honest it was a bit weird at first to be at Wine Bar George in the morning. This is usually a spot we go later in the day, or even just grab a quick drink to go from The Basket downstairs. But we were super excited to try something new and ready to enjoy some lighter drinks to start the day. Wine Bar George has come up with some pretty cool offerings. They have some drinks by the carafe meant for sharing such as spritzes and sangria ($34-$44). We notice while there isn’t coffee on the menu, they do have a “Wake Up Call” Espresso Martini ($14). (You can see the whole special brunch drink menu on page 2 HERE.) We decided to go with the traditional brunch drink of choice and ordered some champagne off the wine menu:

  • We started off with some Digby Fine English Brut. This sparkling wine is more dry than sweet, but so smooth and good. At $22 a glass it isn’t the cheapest option on the menu but we found it to be a great value for the quality.

  • With our meal our server also suggested something we wouldn’t have thought of: Ruinart Rosé Champagne. This brut with slightly fruity undertones was the perfect compliment to the steak we ordered. At $40 this was a nice splurge to accompany the meal.

The other drinks that are suggested for Brunch are Wine Bar George’s famous frozen concoctions. If you aren’t familiar, these are a mix of alcohol in a slushee type consistency. And they are amazing. It all started with the popular Frose and they have kept introducing new ones since:

  • FROSÉ (Rosé / Vodka / Strawberry): this original drink is Julie’s favorite. It is the least sweet and tastes the most like wine.

  • FREAUJOLAIS / $13 (Beaujolais / Vodka / Raspberry): this is probably one of the the sweetest. If you love sangria you should try it!

  • FROZCATO (Moscato / Vodka / Dole Whip Pineapple): this newer drink is Andrew’s favorite. If you love a Dole Whip you need to try this one.

  • We also tried the latest Frozen cocktail to hit the menu: the FRIEZLING. This drink is a blend of Reisling, Vodka, and Lime dole whip. It is more on the tart side and tastes like a frozen key lime pie. So yummy and perfect for warm weather!

If you are a fan of these drinks make sure to check out the special Corkcicle available for sale. If you purchase one you get a frozen beverage included, plus discounted future refills. They have had a variety of special edition colors. Julie loves her neon pink Corkcicle and always brings it on a Disney Springs visit. At a $3 discount per drink the savings add up!

Brunch: one meal to rule them all.

The Wine Country Brunch Menu is somewhat similar to the daily menu but with some breakfast twists. We almost wish we had a bigger party to try more items but with the two of us we had more than enough food with even just a couple items. Let’s just say the portions are a very good value. Here is what we got:

Appetizer: Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites ($12)

We couldn’t help it. These things are too good and we just couldn’t say no. Whether Brunch, Lunch or Dinner these little guys are always a winner. The gooey homemade mac ‘n’ cheese wrapped in a crispy fried outer shell is a must for everyone at the table. Unless you don’t like cheese, which is sad.

Brunch Entree: Steak & Eggs Frites ($25)

This meal is a twist on the lunch entree. The plate starts with a bed of crispy perfectly seasoned fries. Those are topped with a tender skirt steak and a slightly spicy sriracha hollandaise. The crowning glory is two sunny side eggs. (If you aren’t a fan of runny eggs you can also order these scrambled instead). The flavors all together on this were fantastic. And when you can have steak for breakfast, why not?

Brunch Entree: French Toast ($17)

Is there any better base for french toast than brioche? We certainly don’t think so. This fluffy perfectly toasted bread was sandwiched with mascarpone and caramel sauce. It also came with some fresh berries and a side of maple syrup. It was so melt in your mouth good and the perfect sweet option to balance out the savory steak dish.

Wine Bar George French Toast

Side: Bacon ($6)

To go with the toast we also ordered some bacon, because really when bacon is an option you must partake. The three slices were a good quality meat to add on to the meal.

Dessert: Rosé Cookie ($4)

Even though we had the sweet french toast we did want to try a dessert as well. We ended up taking one to go and we were really glad to try it. This really large cookie is soft and sweet and the icing is crazy good. The wine infused pink icing looks so pretty on top and is oh so good. You can also grab this item at the basket and for $4 we thought it was a great option for a treat to share (and way cheaper than some of the other dessert options around Disney Springs.)

The Service

As always we experienced top notch service while at Wine Bar George. We would love to give a shout out to our server Chris. He is passionate about wine and has been with Wine Bar George since opening. He took such great care of us with prompt attention and honest menu suggestions. He was happy to suggest drinks to try, and we loved his idea of the Rose to go with the steak. It’s nice to learn try and learn new things. And we seem to keep doing that on every visit.

Final Thoughts

Being fans of Wine Bar George already we had a hunch we would really like brunch. We found the food to be excellent and a good variety to share some sweet and savory items. (Andrew even admits he may like brunch even more than the regular menu!) Where most brunch places just do mimosas or bloody marys, it was impressive to see such a creative drink menu here. We think Wine Bar George is a great spot for a day date for two or a larger gathering with friends to share different dishes. Thanks again George and team for another top notch dining experience. We certainly will be back and we wanted to say a big thank you to Lauren for organizing our visit.
