Spice Road Table

A Dining Review with Waterfront Views: Spice Road Table at Epcot's Morocco Pavilion

April 20, 2020

While we love strolling Epcot’s World Showcase and sampling food and drink along the way, once in awhile we love booking a table service meal in one of the countries. Morocco has always been one of our favorite stops for flavorful cuisine. The menus can seem a bit more adventurous for some, which we find can actually lead to less kids and a quieter atmosphere. Having opened in 2014, Spice Road Table is a newer addition to the pavilion and has quickly become one of our favorites. Read on to hear more about this great dinner spot…

The Ambiance

The location of Spice Road Table can’t be beat. It sits on the edge of the World Showcase lagoon, offering outstanding views of the water (and if you time it right, the best views of Epcot Forever!) We love the open air design, inspired by outdoor cafés from the Moroccan seaside. The decor feels exotic and the Moroccan lamps add a romantic touch as the sun starts to go down. Simple cafe tables and a slight breeze make this spot feel relaxed too. Whether gazing at water views or people watching out towards the pavilion we find that Spice Road Table is a perfect spot to recharge. The restaurant is on the smaller side of other options around the showcase, which also can make dining here more intimate. (It’s good to note that the bar inside can feel a bit crowded but we love the selection and will stop here often anyways).

The Menu

At Spice Road Table get ready to savor Mediterranean dishes like seafood, skewers, and rack of lamb. The Dinner Menu here features both small plates and full entrees. We are big fans of trying new things and sharing so this place is perfect to do just that. Keep reading to see the various dishes we tried. You can view the whole menu below (click to enlarge).

The drink menu features an impressive selection of wines (including flights). Julie went with a Rose from Spain which was delicious. You can also find a lot of fresh signature cocktails, assorted beers, and liquors too. (It’s good to note that the bar here is a great spot to stop while sampling drinks around the World Showcase.)

Small Plate: Spicy Garlic Shrimp $10.99
Sautéed Shrimp with Dried Chilies and Fried Garlic

This is one of our all time favorite dishes. These large shrimp are marinaded in the best garlic flavor. Seriously so good. We really feel the price point is very fair too.

Spicy Garlic Shrimp

Small Plate: Moroccan Lamb Sausage $9.99
North African Spicy Lamb Sausage served with Tomato, Red Onion, and Cilantro Salad

These lamp sausages have a good amount of spice and are so flavorful. They are really good, the only issue is the shrimp is so amazing it almost makes these take a back seat.

Moroccan Lamb Sausage

Entree: Mix Grill Skewers $29.99
Marinated Beef and Chicken with French Green Beans, Toasted Almonds, and Rosemary Potatoes

This dish was great to share and another good value. The juicy meat is marinaded in herbs and spices. The green sauce on the side makes it even tastier. Andrew loves the sautéed green beans with almonds. Even the potatoes were good. Kind of like seasoned fries, we enjoyed these even more than we thought we would.

Spice Road Table

Dessert: Chocolate Pyramid $8.99
with Ice Cream

When we saw one of these pass by we wanted to try it too. This little cake had a great chocolate flavor (not too sweet) and together with the ice cream made for a perfect dessert.

The Service

Everyone we encountered at Spice Road Table was excellent. The servers were all very hard working and friendly. They were attentive when needed but also gave you space if you wanted to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Final Thoughts

We think Spice Road Table is an excellent choice for a relaxed adult meal. We love both the ambiance and the menu options and find the prices really fair for what you get. Here are some highlights of why someone may like or dislike this restaurant:

Pros

  • Great outdoor location

  • Flavorful Menu

  • Good for sharing

  • Can be a better spot for adults compared to other Epcot locations

Cons

  • If someone is picky or not into spicy food the menu may not suite them

  • It can be busier here close to the Epcot Forever showtime

  • Outdoor seating may not be ideal if the weather is not great

Spice Road Table will continue to be a top pick for us and we hope to be back soon!
