On our recent trip to Disney's Aulani in Hawaii we wanted to book a Luau dinner show to experience some culture and tasty food. There are quite a few options for different Luau's and unfortunately in the past we had experienced one that was on the cheaper side and ended up severely disappointed. KA WA‘A – A Lū‘au at Aulani, takes place on resort property (the Hālāwai Lawn) a few nights a week. Aulani Makahiki Character Breakfast: Our Full Hawaiian Dining Review!
While staying at Disney's Aulani resort we reserved two dining experiences. One was a Hawaiian Disney Character Breakfast at a restaurant called Makahiki, named for the Hawaiian harvest season. Located in the main building right below the main entrance lobby, the restaurant features colorful, culture inspired decor inside, and pretty koi ponds outside. Makahiki is a buffet style restaurant open for breakfast and dinner. We decided to reserve a late morning spot, both to avoid the crowds and to be able to have a big brunch and skip lunch that day.
