Walt Disney World After COVID Reopening Part 2: Staying at a Resort

July 22, 2020

Since Walt Disney World has reopened we have been able to visit the parks several times. (Curious about what the parks are like? Check out our article: Walt Disney World After COVID Reopening Part 1: Visiting the Parks) Recently we decided to try a resort stay as well to see how that experience compares to “normal” as well. We booked a visit to Disney’s Polynesian resort and spent some time at the Grand Floridian next door too. There were quite a few notable changes with new safety measures and social distancing guidelines in place. So read on for all the details of what to expect when staying on property in a world adjusted for COVID.

Is Disney Vacation Club Worth It? (How DVC Works and Our Membership Experience)

April 2, 2020

If you have read some of our resort reviews before, you may have figured out that we are Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members. We have been blue card holders since 2013 and have used our membership in various ways. We find that we get a lot of questions about DVC, with the most frequent being “Is DVC worth it?” It can be a bit confusing at first to figure out how the membership exactly works so we wanted to break it down for our readers. With this article we will be covering:

  • An overview of DVC (including how points work)

  • Our journey to purchasing (including what DVC costs)

  • Benefits of being members

  • and finally: Is DVC worth it?

Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort Review: A Perfect Adult Weekend Getaway in Orlando!

November 11, 2019

Even though we now live in Orlando, we still find ourselves staying on property from time to time. There is something special about booking a little staycation and leaving the parks to a resort room, instead of facing a drive home late at night. We have done a few one night stays using our Disney Vacation Club points since moving here, but we do have a limited number of DVC points. We decided it was the perfect time to broaden our horizons and start checking out some other nearby hotels and resorts. For Andrew’s birthday weekend we booked a weekend getaway at Hilton Bonnet Creek. Read on to hear all about this resort…

Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Club

Disneyland Paris Hotel Review: Newport Bay Club (Compass Club Room)

October 6, 2019

When booking our vacation package at Disneyland Paris, we had our choice of six different resorts ranging from value to luxury accomodations. With the Disneyland Hotel being super expensive we settled on choosing a mid level resort. When we found out Hotel New York would be closed for refurbishment and that the pool at Sequoia Lodge would be closed, Newport Bay Club became the obvious choice. We thought the theming and location would also be great for relaxing, and we were excited to experience a club level room. Read on to hear all the details about this resort…

Hotel Le Belmont Paris

"Le Belmont" - The Perfect Parisian Boutique Hotel in the Middle of it All

August 2, 2019

For our first visit to Pairs we had a few goals in mind when finding a hotel for our stay. We knew we would want to see a lot of the sights and sought a location that would be easy access to popular spots. Secondly we wanted to find a more boutique style hotel with Parisian character. We were also hoping to find something that didn’t cost and arm and a leg, but also wasn’t too low end. We searched for what seemed like awhile and finally came across the perfect place for us: Hôtel Le Belmont. Read on for our full review and see why we recommend this four star hotel (especially for a first time visit to Paris).
