For our first visit to Pairs we had a few goals in mind when finding a hotel for our stay. We knew we would want to see a lot of the sights and sought a location that would be easy access to popular spots. Secondly we wanted to find a more boutique style hotel with Parisian character. We were also hoping to find something that didn’t cost and arm and a leg, but also wasn’t too low end. We searched for what seemed like awhile and finally came across the perfect place for us: Hôtel Le Belmont. Read on for our full review and see why we recommend this four star hotel (especially for a first time visit to Paris).

Location is Everything
Hôtel Le Belmont is located at 30 rue Bassano, situated in what is know as the “Golden Triangle”, just steps away from the Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe. Tucked away off the main drag the cobblestone street instantly has that historic and charming vibe. We loved being able to walk to so many shops and restaurants, but also felt removed from the hustle and bustle. We were also only a 10 minute walk to the Trecadaro area (right across the river from the Eiffel Tower).
Hôtel Le Belmont was also very close to a couple of Metro stops for easy access to other parts of the city. We used the Metro and RER multiple times during our visit and there were three stations to choose from, all about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The George V station is on the Metro #1 line, Kleber is on the Metro #6 line, and the Charles de Gaulle – Etoile station serve both Metro #1 and #6 and is also on the RER A line which we took to Disneyland Paris.

About the Hotel
Style & Decor
Hôtel Le Belmont is a Haussmann-style building completely renovated in 2013. It features a variety of 74 rooms and suites. The fine wood, rich fabrics, and a touch of orientalism makes the hotel feel luxe and romantic. The style is dark and intimate and has a balance of feeling historic and modern at the same time. The main level offers common spaces with cozy seating to relax.

All of the staff was very accommodating during our stay.
Service
All of the staff members were very helpful during our stay. From answering questions by email prior to our stay, to warm greetings in person, they were very hospitable. We were very appreciate of a couple of instances of extra accommodation as well. Being a red eye, our flight arrived early in the morning. We loved that it was no problem to come by early before our room was ready to leave our luggage. We were also given access to the fitness area to freshen up. On another day we had a very early tour and left before breakfast service began. The staff made sure to have something available for us so we wouldn’t leave hungry. Even little things like having umbrellas available for use was a nice touch.

The lobby had many decor details.

They even had a selection of shopping.
This was the breakfast room as well as a bar at night.
Our Room
As is the case in most European countries, the hotel rooms are smaller than they are in the United States. However, that doesn’t take away from the usefulness and niceness of the rooms. You can tell many details were considered with the room. The decor goes with the rest of the hotel, feeling stylish and grand even within the small space.
Bedroom
Our king bed was super comfy and had crisp linens. The room was dark but had many light sources to balance that (even the little reading lamps were a nice addition). Across from the bed was a desk area with TV, a small bench, as well as a wardrobe with a full length mirror. While the room was on the small side we still found unpacking and getting organized wasn’t a problem. We appreciated many of the in-room amenities as well:

Mini Bar/Fridge
A (really good) hair dryer
A tea kettle and assorted teas (that were restocked each day)
The room had dark curtains which were perfect for sleeping in a couple mornings.
We loved having tea in the evening to relax.
Small details like this make a stay even more enjoyable.
We were able to utilize the desk and bench area to organize our belongings during the week.
Bathroom
The bathroom in our hotel room was very modern in style. Even though a dark scheme, the lighting was really good for getting ready. We enjoyed many of the great features such as:

Super fancy Hermès toiletries (also replenished daily to Julie’s delight)

Balcony
Our favorite feature of our room was our lovely balcony. We were able to open the doors to make the room feel bigger and also take in the sights of Paris. There was a small table and two chairs that we used on several occasions. From a morning coffee or evening champagne, to a Pret a Manger picnic this area was perfect for a little relaxing and watching the Parisian streets below.
The Best Breakfast
Many hotels in France serve breakfast with your room reservation, however we found out this usually means a standard French breakfast (which is coffee and pastries). We are definitely people that enjoy a more substantial meal with protein in the AM. We really liked the fact that Le Belmont served a full “american-style” breakfast included in our room rate.

Final Thoughts
We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le Belmont. We found for us it was a great location for touring around. It was a great price point (and honestly the style and amenities made it feel like it should have been more expensive than it was). We loved the breakfast, our balcony, and little details that made our stay more enjoyable. We also liked that it wasn’t super touristy and felt like a more authentic French experience.
