While not in Orlando, there is an attraction that is well worth the approximately 1 hour drive: The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. If you have driven around Orlando, you may have noticed this lit up structure from a distance. The Wheel at Icon Park is visible from the California Grill, Sea World, Universal Studios, and various spots throughout the Orlando area. Standing 400 feet above the ground, it towers over everything nearby with the exception of it’s sister attraction, the Orlando StarFlyer. It’s funny, back in the day we went on a date where we both were able to see our first 3D movie, which happened to be “Avatar”. While it may not be one of the top movies from a story perspective, it most definitely was a milestone in visual movie technology at the time.
