We are always looking for creative ideas for date night ideas, so when Pinspiration South Orlando invited us to a special event to try some crafts and a revamped menu it sounded like a great excuse for a fun night out. While Julie is naturally artsy, Andrew is not so much and was curious what the evening would entail. We soon learned this was a great spot for creatives of all levels and we had a great evening trying three different activities and a variety of menu items. Read on to learn about our crafty date night…

The Pinspiration staff provide the tools, materials and a clean, inviting and inspiring place to put it all together. Customers can create their own idea on the spot or they can choose from an array of ever-changing monthly project menus based on the most popular “pinned” social media projects and current craft trends. Choose Your DIY: Select a project from dozens of our current craft options including art, decor, gifts, and accessories. Each person in your group can select their own, unique craft.
Make a reservation or walk in: contact us for a reservation, or walk in to our studio! Reservations are recommended but not required (with the exception of a few projects).
Have fun: No hassle, no mess, no excuses! We provide project kits, tutorials and all the supplies to allow you to personalize your project. Relax and enjoy some drinks and bites while you create.
Take it home: go home with your completed, handmade craft, ready to be enjoyed in your home.

Drinks at Pinspiration
We were quite impressed with Pinspiration’s selections of beverages to enjoy while crafting. They have a variety of beers and wine as well as non alcoholic drinks such as soda, ice tea, lemonade, code and water. They also have a fun selection of non alcoholic cocktails that are colorful and creative to fit the theme. (You can also request your own concoctions!) We tried:
Shark Bite $5.00
Blue fruit punch, Sprite, lime, and lemon juice.
Andrew tried this drink and enjoyed it. It was a jazzed up Sprite and the blue color and being topped with gummy fish was a fun touch.
Pineapple Sunrise $5.00
Pineapple juice, Sprite, grenadine
Julie ordered this with a fun twist from the bartender: a little addition of blue punch to make a pretty rainbow drink. It was so pretty but def on the sweet side.

Pinspiration also offers a menu of snacks and desserts to enjoy while crafting. At the event we attended we got to try brand new menu items:
Mimosa Flight
This new offering has three versions of sparkling wine with juices: classic orange, pineapple, and grapefruit. Perfect for a girls event!
Cream Cheese Chutney Sampler
This soft cheese was served with crackers and a variety of chutneys ranging from sweet to spicy. Yum!
Charcuterie Board
Who does’t love a display of assorted meats, cheeses, and accompaniments?
DIY Cupcake
This creative twist on dessert let’s you decorate a cupcake just how you like. We think this would be a huge hit with kids too!
S’mores
We thought this kit was perfect for a date night to roast marshmallows over a candle with accompanying ingredients.

Our Experience
This was so much fun! Getting dressed up in haz mat like supplied and flinging paint was so fun. The glow lights and music were a nice touch too. This was certainly a fun way to mix up date night. We will say this is more about the time spent together than the end result. While the splatter canvas is cool, it’s not exactly fine art we would hang up but we would absolutely do it again.

Craft #2: Candle Making
Candle Making - $55 per candle
Our candle-making experience is led by expert instructors who will guide you through the process step by step. Select a premium vessel. Choose a signature scent. Pick a color. Select from various mix-in enhancements to complete your candle.

Our Experience
We couldn’t believe there were so many options for a candle. You could:
Pick a container
Decorate the container
Choose the color of wax
Choose a mixture of scents
Add accents on top
We really enjoyed the process of making our own candles. Julie loves how hers looks with the design and flower petals on top and has it displayed at home. Andrew was looking forward to his candle scent, but we think he didn’t use enough scent oil, so the end result wasn’t quite what he was expecting.

Craft #3: Acrylic Pouring
Acrylic Pouring – $38 for a small canvas, $51 for large
As seen all over social media! Always wanted to try this technique? Leave the mess to us! Acrylic pouring creates beautiful paint puddles and results in an abstract masterpiece. Use the layered cup pour technique with our flow medium to create a process-art masterpiece that is equally unique and fun to create! Choose your color combinations and canvas size (availability varies).
Please note that Acrylic Pour projects will need to be left at the studio to dry for 48 hours or sometimes longer until they are ready to transport. You will need to plan accordingly to return to the studio and pick up your project.

Our Experience
We didn’t know what to expect for this one but were so pleased with the results. We simply picked a handful of colors, dripped it onto the canvas, and then titled it around. We LOVE the final pieces and think they look amazing!

Final Thoughts
We didn’t know quite was in store for our night at Pinspiration, but had such a fun night. It was so fun to try a variety of activities and we enjoyed them more than we would have thought. The time together laughing and creating was a really fun date night. The selection of drinks and snacks made this an even more complete experience. The staff was fabulous at helping with requests or offering ideas. In addition to Date Night we can see Pinspiration being a great spot for birthdays, showers, or company events too. We can’t wait to come back and craft some more soon!
